The Landfill Capacity – The Domino Effect 

Using data from the latest solid waste reports, this predictive model depicts the depletion of MSW landfill airspace in North and South Carolina and the effect they have on municipalities. 

John Fearrington, P.E. began his career at Smith Gardner, Inc. and currently serves as a Senior Project Engineer.  Mr. Fearrington has over 10 years of experience at solid waste facilities across the southeastern US focusing on design, construction, temporary closures, and landfill capital planning. In 2021, Mr. Fearrington was recognized as one of Waste 360’s 40 Under 40 award recipients that recognizes inspiring and innovative professionals under the age of 40 whose work in waste, recycling and organics has made a significant contribution to the industry.
