Please join us for the NWRA Georgia chapter meeting where we'll discuss chapter activities over the last year and plan for 2025.  This past year the chapter hosted a golf tournament that promoted member participation and growth.  The chapter also provided feedback to the state regulatory agency regarding potential procedure & rule changes and legislation.  Membership is not required to attend the meeting.

Please join us for the NWRA Florida chapter meeting where we'll discuss the 2024 legislative session, current activities and initiatives and plan for 2025.  Most recently the chapter has been focused on lithium battery fires affecting entities across the state and what the industry can do to provide outreach and prevention options. Membership is not required to attend the meeting.

The Recycling Committee is open to all NWRA members. Committee members will be focused on issues facing the industry such as paper and packaging EPR, lithium battery fires, plastic packaging, and commodity values.

Southeast Chapters Golf Tournament

The Club at Savannah Harbor is former home to The PGA TOUR’s Champions Tour, Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf Championship, the course that lies nestled between the banks of the Savannah and Back Rivers of the splendid Georgia Low Country. The serenity of coastal Georgia, with its tidal marshes and abundant wildlife provides the canvas for The Club at Savannah Harbor, an 18-hole masterpiece created and designed by renowned architect Robert Cupp in conjunction with the legendary “Slammin’ Sammy” Snead. The club continues to impress golfers and was recognized in by GOLFWEEK as one of the “Best Courses You Can Play in Georgia” 2020!

Registration fee $300 per golfer, includes transportation, boxed lunch, and Bloody Mary bar. Rental clubs are available at $119 per golfer.

Savannah Port Tour

1:00 PM - 2:45 PM

See the Savannah Port up close on an exciting boat trip!  Your tour guide will take you upriver discussing in detail all the terminals on the river, what they do, produce, sell, etc.  You will see a variety of ships from bulk, chemical and container and be given examples of the various products that are produced and sold throughout the world. You'll also hear about the history of the port and when it was started as a commercial entity and where it is going in the future. Beverages will be provided. The port departure is conveniently located along the river just minutes from the JW Marriott.

Cost: $120/pp

 

Trolley Tour of Downtown Savannah

1:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Founded in 1733, Savannah is one of America’s finest preserved cities and considered a jewel of the south. You will enjoy a comprehensive, completely narrated guided tour of one of the largest National Urban Historic Land marked Districts in the United States.  Let us transport your group through more than 280 years of American history. Ride along cobblestone paved streets beneath moss-draped oaks and experience the “Old South” with her stately mansions, beautiful squares, romantic riverfront, and abundance of true southern charm. Beverages will be provided.
