Opened in 1962, The Edgewater Hotel is one of Seattle’s most distinctive and historic properties. Built on Pier 67 during the Seattle World’s Fair, it remains the only over-water hotel in the city, offering guests a truly unique experience right on Elliott Bay.
Originally designed during a period of major growth and innovation in Seattle, the hotel quickly became known for its quirky and memorable charm—including its early slogan inviting guests to “fish from your room.”
The Edgewater rose to international fame in 1964 when The Beatles stayed at the hotel during their first U.S. tour. Photos of the band fishing from their room window became iconic, cementing the hotel’s place in music history.
Over the decades, The Edgewater has continued to host an impressive list of notable guests, including Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, and many more, earning its reputation as a favorite destination for artists and cultural icons.
Today, the hotel blends its rich legacy with modern Pacific Northwest style—offering visitors a one-of-a-kind stay that reflects both Seattle’s history and its vibrant, creative spirit.
